Prime Minister Ehud Olmert traveled this on the new Israel Railways line to Modi'in, which links that city to Tel Aviv via Ben-Gurion International Airport, with a trip taking only 20 minutes. The project cost approximately NIS 1.5 billion and included laying approximately 20 kilometers of new track and the construction of two stations in Modi'in, one of which was dedicated this morning.
Prime Minister Olmert, who arrived at the dedication ceremony by train from BGI Airport, mentioned, "how the train will change the daily lives of the residents who will be able to ride to Tel Aviv in minutes," and wished Transportation Ministry and Israel Railways personnel a Happy New Year.
