Prime Minister Ehud Olmert this evening attended the closing session of the third conference of the directorsgeneral of Government ministries regarding the ministries' 2009 working plans. The directors-general presented their ministries' working plans, which included indices for measuring organization, output and results vis-à-vis various goals in order to allow for monitoring and follow-up during the year. The plans are available at http://www.pmo.gov.il/plans and will serve in the framework of the transfer of power to the Government that will be formed following the 10.2.09 elections. Prime Minister Olmert said – inter alia – that, "As Prime Minister, I have tried to deal in more than just the problems that a prime minister is expected to deal with such as foreign affairs and security and military problems, but it was not always easy due to the problems that our country has dealt with. But we succeeded in dealing with and advancing many issues. We dealt very much with education and succeeded in putting the issue on the agenda much more significantly than in the past. We significantly advanced social welfare issues, such as for children and young people at risk, and Holocaust survivors. We responded to these issues as never before. These are preliminary steps that can change the State of Israel and I am proud of this fact."
