As is done every year before Passover, the National Security Council Counter-Terrorism Bureau issues its updated travel warnings as a public service. There are no new warnings. In light of Hezbollah's threats, the NSCCTB deems it proper to reiterate the following: Hezbollah has repeatedly blamed Israel for the death of Imad Mughniyeh, which greatly increases the organization's terrorism threats against Israelis abroad. Therefore, attention is called to the existing travel warnings regarding the kidnapping of – or attacks on – Israelis broad, especially businesspeople in contact colleagues from Arab and/or Muslim countries. Israelis abroad are called upon to: * Be especially alert and aware of any untoward phenomena. * Absolutely avoid visiting Arab, Islamic and other countries subject to travel warnings. * Reject any enticing or unexpected offer and refuse to accept unexpected gifts or free offers from suspect or unknown sources. * Avoiding entering hotel rooms or apartments of suspect or unexpected visitors. * Avoid routine during prolonged stays abroad. Change hotels from time to time, vary itineraries, etc. Even though the Philippines, Turkey, Thailand and Uzbekistan are not under travel warnings, nevertheless there are potential terrorist threats in them. The NSCCTB recommends that Israelis be especially cautious while visiting or staying in them. Updated information is available via the foregoing links. The NSCCTB may also be contacted at 03-5486042/3/4/68.
