Prime Minister Ehud Olmert today took his leave from various world leaders with whom he had maintained good and continuous working relations during his term of office.
He spoke with – inter alia – US President Barack Obama, Russian President Dmitry Medvedev, German Chancellor Angela Merkel, UK Prime Minister Gordon Brown and Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi, all of whom commended him for the joint work and strengthening relations between Israel and their respective countries during his term of office.
Prime Minister Olmert thanked the aforementioned leaders for assisting the State and People of Israel in various areas and for seeing fit to stand alongside Israel through a series of diplomatic and security challenges with which it dealt.
